After I departed from the group on our Hawaiian Islands cruise, I wanted to fly to spend a few days on The Big Island before returning home.
How's this for the most exquisite plan?
I booked three nights at the incomparable Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows.
Over the years I have been sending the most discriminating travelers to this lap of luxury and perfection and finally it became my turn to see why they would not choose to stay anywhere else.
The spiritual calm and beauty of this place entered my soul on arrival and will remain with me forever ~ and yes I plan to return as soon as I possibly can. We were personally greeted on arrival with gorgeous Leis and escorted to the concierge where we were introduced to the resort in detail.
There was also a list of complimentary activities such as lei-making, watercolor painting, tropical flower arrangi ng, hula lessons, Hawaiian games, fish feeding tours and historic tours.
We could at that time chose to make dinner reservations, which we elected to do for The Canoe House. Whatever you do, do not leave the resort without trying this phenomenal restaurant.
The magnificent setting is beachfront and you can experience the sound and see the surf from your table. I enjoyed the Chilled Crab Salad on Won Ton Chips to start and a Swordfish Special for my Entrée.
Both were excellent. My perfect ending was a scrumptious Kona Coffee Parfait.

Our comfortable guestroom was located on the sunset side of the hotel and had a hypnotic view of the mystical mountains and the gorgeous pool and beautiful beach. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever experienced in all my travels to luxury hotels and
the soothing, nourishing Ginger Root products were abundant in the attractive bathrooms.
Golf, tennis, biking, jogging, relaxing in the spa or snorkeling were just a few activities available to us during our stay.
As evening would near during our stay we planted ourselves on our private lanai to watch the lighting of the attractive torches dotting the property and we felt so connected and inspired by this dream place. It was like the setting for the most romantic movie and we were the stars!

A variety of accommodations are offered namely guestrooms, villas ~ great choice for families and bungalows ~ 4,000 square feet of exquisitely designed living space staffed with a private butler and chef ~ call us for details.
Special packages are offered throughout the year and we will always have the most current details. If you are longing to "castaway" to the most wonderful Hawaiian resort, Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows can be your peace and tranquility.
