When you want to visit the top of the world there is
nothing like an Orient Lines Cruise to the Baltic. We flew in to
Copenhagen to start our travels visiting Tivoli Gardens before embarking
on our outstanding adventure onboard the award-winning Marco Polo.
The
friendly crew provided excellent service as we eased our way in and out of
the interesting ports on this intimate, elegant ship.
Tallinn, Estonia a
medieval town with great shopping was our first stop.
Next St.
Petersburg, Russia, the highlight of our trip with memorable excursions to
The Hermitage, St. Peterhof Palace with it’s cascading fountains and
Catherine Palace with it’s Agate and Amber rooms and more beautiful,
breathtaking cathedrals.
The Russians are somewhat serious and very
proud of their land.
The days at sea are always enjoyable when you catch
up on some R&R.
Read a good book while soaking up some sun, sample an
informative lecture or perhaps catch a movie.
You can also try your luck
at the casino, shop till you drop or work out in the gym so you don’t feel
so guilty about all those tasty desserts you could not avoid! The spa is
also a place to melt down and enjoy a massage anytime of day.
Helsinki, Finland was the next adventure with her
friendly islands scattered along the port just waiting for us to dive into
exploration.
Stockholm, Sweden Viking territory, was shipshape as we
strolled into Norwegian Paradise.
The Swedes were fun loving and a
highlight of my journey. Set sail with Orient Cruise Lines and enjoy the
ride.
