Sandy Lane has been considered the premier address in
the Caribbean since the first guests were welcomed in 1961 and preferred by
royalty, movie stars and many of the world’s most discriminating
personalities. From the first moment we arrived, we realized that Sandy Lane
was like no other hotel we have ever been to. As the Bentley Limousine
passed through the gates into the driveway and we got our first glimpse of
the creamy coralstone building shimmering in the sunlight with the sapphire
Caribbean in the background.
Sandy Lane is a total resort. There is something for
everyone whether it be active with top class golf, tennis and a wide range
of water sports or relaxed by lazing on the beach or around the pool. The
47,000 square foot spa world class with 11 treatment rooms, 4 pools, a
crystal laconium, a granite steam room, an invigorating ice cave and a
fitness center.
Dining at Sandy Lane gives the guest total choice, from
the elegant signature restaurant L’Acacjou featuring French continental
cuisine to Bajan Blue featuring all day dining in a casual setting. There
are 5 lounges and the Spa Café. The in-room dining makes a club sandwich
seem gourmet.
The accommodations at Sandy Lane are something to
behold. The average room is 900 square feet of elegance and state of the
art. Each room features plasma TV with DVD/CD player and stereo. All have a
large private verandah with speakers for the TV or stereo. The baths have to
be seen to be believed with large soaking tub and multi-spray shower, a
towel warmer and speakers for the TV and stereo. Everything operates from
touch pads located bedside, on the entry walls and on the verandah.
The service at Sandy Lane has no equal. My luggage was
unpacked when I arrived and repacked for me so that I could enjoy every
moment of my incredible experience there. The only regret I had with my stay
at Sandy Lane was that I could not stay longer, but I suppose Tiger Woods
wanted to experience what I had in the days prior to his wedding which took
place 2 days after I left Sandy Lane.
