Julie & Al Sail On The Most Famous Ship In The World
I had always dreamed of the day I would board the QE2 and cruise to
some exotic destination. Who hasn’t? Man y of us know and recognize The
QE2 as the most prestigious ship in the world. The success of the movie
"Titanic", in a very interesting way, has brought the idea of a
Transatlantic Crossing to the forefront. The romance, intrigue and beauty
of the whole experience are very much alive,
attainable and fun!
We chose to cruise from New York to Southampton with Princess Grill
accommodations.
Formal as well as casual dining options were available. Our preference
was participating in four formal evenings on board. Throughout the cruise
we savored exquisite dining and impeccable service. And if you are
wondering, yes, The QE2 lived up to every expectation we had.
During the crossing many talks were offered by the likes of Robert
Lacey, Author of "Grace" and "The Queen Mother’s
Century" and Captain Steve Wand, sharing his 9 years experience
flying The Concorde. Creative drawing sessions by New Yorker Magazine
Cartoonists were popular throughout the week.

The Broadway Bound
Theatre Company offered superb evening entertainment with the exclusive
production of Enter the Guardsman and song and dance revue: The
Wonderful Words of Sammy Cahn. For those passengers interested in
trying their hand at acting, members of the cast offered various
workshops.
Our post cruise plans included a stay at the
incomparable Brown’s Hotel. The welcome we were given on arrival by the friendly, capable staff
made us feel at home.
World-renowned Tea, served in The Drawing Room, was a must-do on our
itinerary. Next day we walked to Buckingham Palace and afterwards took in the
various attractions on our own. London was as spectacular as ever.
